February 2nd, 2018Natixis Partners advised Sadri Fegaier and Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners in the reorganization of SFAM Group’s ownership structure

Founded in 1999 and based in Romans-sur-Isère, SFAM Group designs, sells and markets a line of premium insurance products with extended warranties for mobile phones and multimedia devices. With 1,300 employees and expected gross revenues of €500m for 2018, SFAM Group has become a European leader in the distribution of extended warranty premium products, in particular in the fast-growing smart mobile products market. This unique positioning together with its operational excellence and high-quality service has enabled the company to grow very rapidly (+2,500% in gross revenue growth over the last five years) and to become a leading supplier of value-added services to its distribution partners. Already operating in France, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland, SFAM Group is considering expanding its activities into new markets such as Italy, the Netherlands, and Portugal. SFAM Group also intends to diversify its insurance services: in addition to new services for mobile / multimedia products and extended cash-back programs under the Foriou brand, the company will soon launch a new digital service under the Hubside brand.

Natixis Partners advised the shareholders as well as SFAM Group in the framework of its capital reorganization and capital raising exercise to finance its exceptional growth. This process led Ardian to acquire a minority equity stake in SFAM Group and ICG to subscribe to a unitranche bond issued by SFAM Group. These transactions value SFAM Group at €1.7 billion in enterprise value terms. Sadri Fegaier, SFAM Group’s founder and CEO, remains the controlling shareholder of the company alongside Ardian and Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners (a minority shareholder since early 2016).
